About Kaylee Rutland

Kaylee Rutland's sweet, soulful sound is well matched with her warm smile and the upbeat, encouraging messages in her music. Born, raised and still living in Flower Mound, Texas she's the quintessential girl next door. At the heart of everything Kaylee does are her small town values and strong Christian faith as evident in the wholesome lyrics of her contemporary country music.

Although she's quick to assert "I'm not just a normal girl," her levelheadedness and unassuming confidence have made Kaylee a leader among friends. And as a 17-year-old senior at Marcus High School, she's keenly aware of the pressures facing young women today and is determined to be a worthy role model, beginning at home with her three younger siblings. Her strong family ties help keep her grounded and true to herself. Kaylee's challenge to her fans is the same standard she holds to herself- to not be pressured by the world into compromising and to stand your ground.

Kaylee's music resume began with church choir and piano lessons at age 6, followed by voice at 8 and song writing at 10. Now all of her energy pours into her love of country music and what every good country singer longs to have in their repertoire, a six string guitar. In 2012, collaboration with a Nashville songwriter resulted in the release of her first EP containing 5 songs written about what Kaylee knows best- friends, family, faith and of course, boys. "Her ideas and creativity shined in our sessions... she held her own in the room with hit writers and musicians..." said Megan Conner, songwriter/producer of Shapiro Bernstein about their work together.

When Kaylee isn't visiting Nashville, she keeps herself busy with with local performances, singing with the vocal pop jazz group at her school, Fusion, and with continued musical coaching at Septien School of Contemporary Music. She's performed at Six Flags Over Texas, Love and War in Texas, The Grapevine Opry and the American Airlines Center. And, she has no intention of slowing down. With dreams of singing at the Grand Old Opry someday, she's bound for Nashville after graduation and the stage of her next big performance- Belmont University- where she will study music business and continue her education.
