“I’ve never thought about doing anything other than music...it is my passion" says Ryan Michaels, whose arresting debut album "Life Is For The Living” bursts forth with radio-ready cuts tailor made for the air waves.

Michaels was exposed to music at an early age growing up in his family’s musical instrument store in the San Francisco Bay Area. His earliest influences were arena rockers like Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, and U2 along with a wide array of singer/songwriters such as James Taylor and Roy Orbison.

“For me there’s a spiritual connection when you hear a meaningful lyric paired with a memorable melodic hook. Drawing from my own personal life experiences I want to create those moments so that people can relate to my music. This is what inspires me to perform and write songs."

Since moving to Nashville RMB has become one of the premier bands in Music City’s burgeoning rock scene, having recently been nominated for both "Best Pop/Rock Band" and "Best Live Rock Performers" in the Nashville Independent Music Association (NIMA) Awards. The Ryan Michaels Band includes: drummer Andy Calmes, bassist Matthew Heath Harper, guitarists Steve Cunningham and Josh Sulfaro, and Peter Spero on keys. Michaels says "I've always been a strong believer in collaborative efforts. I am excited about what the guys in this group bring to the table both musically and as people."

Upon its release the band's debut single “Trapped” charted in the Top 20 on several College Music Journal-polled stations. DJ Candle Kincade from Knoxville’s i105-FM quickly added "Life Is For The Living” to its rotation and raves “world class songwriting, chill producing vocals. A stellar group with an original sound. Delicious!”

In support of "Life Is For The Living” the band has toured the US extensively headlining an ASCAP showcase at the Roxy Theater in LA and generated significant buzz with their performances at this year’s SXSW music festival.

RMB gained further national exposure with a featured placement on the MLB Network during the 2010 World Series. The band has also picked up sponsorships with the likes of Taylor Guitars and recently signed deals for Film and TV representation with 615 Music/Song Street Records (a division of Warner/Chapel Music). In addition, RMB has signed with booking powerhouse The Bazel Group, which is presently coordinating plans for future tour dates in the US as well as Europe.

In June 2011 RMB will release their second single, the anthemic title track "Life Is For The Living” that will be released simultaneously with the music video that was inspired by real life stories of people and organizations in the Nashville area.

“When we perform it's our goal to leave everything we’ve got on the stage. Michaels states ”We want to connect with our audience in a way that makes them feel uplifted." Dan Wakely, an NMG reviewer states “Like previous engagements, Michaels electrified the standing room only crowd with his heartfelt singing and insightfully crafted lyrics……they are an act not to be missed.”

You can catch the premier of the new music video June 16th at the acclaimed Belcourt Theater in Nashville, see them live at this years Summerfest the worlds largest music festival in Milwaukee, or become part of the RMB experience at ryanmichealsband.com.
