Quotes

"I had the pleasure a few years back to play in a band with Jay Jolley. It was an explosive rocking & smashing affair and Jay was every bit of the Maniac singer you would expect to find in a band that hails from The Motor-city."

Johnny Bee Badanjek - Detroit's Legendary Rock Drummer (The Rockets, Alice Cooper, Edger Winter, Mitch Ryder)

"Jay Jolley is a terrific front man and singer. When he performs, he makes things happen."

Jim McCarty - Legendary Blues Rock Guitarist (Mitch Ryder, The Rockets, Detroit Wheels, Cactus)

"Jay Jolley is a great rock performer and musician who gives his all to his audiences, and as a rock vocalist he is one of the best!"

Liz Larin - Singer/songwriter (Former Atlantic Recording Artist)

"I have long appreciated Jay's vocal and keyboard skills.... After we set aside our competitiveness, there is no one with whom I enjoy trading licks on stage more than Jay. I strived to pattern my own career after his. Even though he never guided my development directly, he was a constant inspiration. Now, with the release of his new CD, the stage is set for Jay to bring the music industry to its knees."

Charlie Allen Martin - American Drummer and Singer (Internationally renowned member of the Bob Seger Silver Bullet Band)

About jJolley

Yes, that's his real name. Has been all his life. He endured some ribbing about his moniker while growing up in the Midwest but that soon gave way to widespread respect as he made a name for himself as a keyboardist and singer.

Jay is the product of a family that was always immersed in music. His parents owned a record store in Metro Detroit and Jay exploited to the fullest his access to virtually every form of music available. His dad was an organist while growing up in England. His grandmother was a concert pianist. And his mother was a singer, often compared to Judy Garland.

Jay's eclectic appreciation of music carries on to this day. If you were in the car driving with him, the radio dial would be getting a workout. From the Band Perry to Lady Gaga to Bon Jovi to Jason Aldean. Throw in some gospel, symphonic, Zeppelin and Diamond Rio and that's what you'd be hearing.

Jay's versatile talents have given him a solid reputation with fellow musicians. He has either sung, played keys or both on some cool projects with some very cool people: Marlon Young guitarist/songwriter currently with Kid Rock, Anita Cochran singer /songwriter currently touring with Terri Clark (Canadian Country Music Associations Female Vocalist of the Year) Charlie Martin drummer/vocalist from Bob Seger and Silver Bullet Band, Dick Wagner guitarist/songwriter formerly with Alice Cooper, Johnny Bee Badanjek drummer/songwriter – featured artist on the cover of Max Weinberg's The Big Beat: Conversations with Rock's Greatest Drummers.

Jay also enjoys the support of his many fans as a result of performing at the front of such notable bands as 2XL, Flash, Notorious Johnny's and The Heat. And, with numerous bands, he has opened for such headliners as Black Crowes, Eddie Money, Rick Springfield, Burton Cummings, Sass Jordan and UFO. Through singles, EPs and albums, Jay's voice has become a familiar pleasure to radio listeners throughout the Midwest. A few years ago, he was tapped by the Detroit Red Wings to perform their game song, Get Up, which is played every time the Red Wings take to the ice for a home game.

Jay's passion for music is matched by his passion for his wife and family. He likes nothing better than hanging out with family and friends, unless, of course, he has the opportunity to jump on his mountain bike (or a motorcycle) for an adrenalin-pumping ride. And then there is his passion for NASCAR racing and speed in general. He grew up racing Go Carts until he graduated to Harleys.

Jay cared for his parents during long illnesses in their final years. Consequently, he has an intimate respect for the preciousness of life and the importance of sharing and supporting one another. "Take care of others and they take care of you," is at the core of his philosophy.

With the help of his friends and fans Jay is focusing his efforts on his current project, jJolley. His collaboration with song writer and producer Chuck Alkazian of Pearl Sound has resulted in some of the most impressive performances of his career. Jay's recordings on the Double-J Records label can be found on iTunes, AmazonMP3 and Spotify.

His explicit commitment to his fans is: Getting into your ears and eyes and touching your heart and soul.
